Team Management at the University of St. Thomas combined with
experience as a Project Lead Engineer at United Nuclear
Corporation and as a Project Manager / Systems Integration
Manager in the capital equipment industry.
From contract documents I develop a
Work Breakdown
Structure (WBS) which outlines all the functional tasks for a specific
project. Then resources are allocated with time and material estimates. A
Precedence, or sequence of tasks, is established and a Critical Path is defined
using a Precedence Diagramming Method. The tasks are delineated within a
Gantt Chart
to illustrate a production schedule. The software I use allows
several
projects to be analyzed concurrently for resource capacity planning and
interactively modified to smooth demand.I follow
project through to completion and acceptance by the customer. That includes:
negotiating changes in scope as specifications develop and concepts become
reality, keeping awareness up on early critical path items such as Bills Of
Material and vendor selection, regularly reporting progress, providing technical
assistance and
decision making strategies, raising resource issues and filling
gaps whenever possible, and living with the project daily.
